What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a high-intensity fitness programme incorporating elements from several sports and types of exercise that can be scaled in accordance with your fitness and skill level.

Do I already have to be fit and strong before I can start with CrossFit?

No you don’t, anyone can start at any time regardless of age or fitness level. The workouts are programmed in such a way, that the movements and exercises can be scaled to adapt to your fitness, strength and skill level. Over time though, as you get stronger, fitter and better, you are going to push yourself to that next fitness level. But you do it at your pace – with a little help and encouragement from the coaches and community.

I have a prior injury or recovering from an injury, can I still do CrossFit?

You must make your coach aware if you suffer from any injuries or recovering from an injury. Because CrossFit workouts and movements can be scaled, any good coach should be able to adapt a workout in accordance with your needs.

How do I know if CrossFit is right for me?

CrossFit can seem intimidating at first, but if you don’t give it a try you will never know if it is right for you. It is not for everyone, as it requires some grit and determination. But people from all walks of life have tried CrossFit and haven’t looked back. You should however make sure you join a box where you feel comfortable with the coaching and the community is welcoming. You will know when CrossFit and the box is right for you. At CrossFit CX, our classes are smaller so that you receive a more personalised coaching experience.
